A lovely 19th century rosewood ladies writing bureau, circa 1880. The serpentine top with inlaid border stringing and pierced brass gallery. The bombe shaped bureau having a painted romantic scene to its fall front which has a lock and key. The fitted interior has three drawers along with a slide leaf cubby hole while the writing area has a ruby red velvet with gilt edging. The whole standing on slender cabriole legs with decorative ormolu mounts to knees and feet. The height to top of the opening is 62cm. A lovely piece that would suit a contemporary or period interior.
