A 19th-Century Giltwood and Gesso Rope-twist Oval Mirror of unusually complete condition.

The carved rope frame with knotted crest and tassel survives with its original gilding, now softly worn. The mirror retains its original plate, attractively foxed, and what appears to be its original backboard.

At 73cm by 37cm, it is a well-proportioned example and a rare, largely untouched survivor suitable for both period and contemporary interiors.
