Terms & Conditions/Refund Policy:
These are the terms and conditions under which Tinker and Toad (“we” or “us”) supplies furniture, home accessory products or services (the “Product”) or services (“Services”) through its website www.tinkerandtoad.com and any third-party websites on which we may sell to you (the “Customer” or “you”). Each Customer should ensure they read these terms and conditions prior to placing an order with us. Please note that by placing an order for any Product or Service from Tinker and Toad, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1: Products and Services
We strive to describe all items as comprehensively and as accurately as possible, to the best of our knowledge, providing any available history, age, and details, along with a thorough description of any noticeable defects or faults. However, please be aware that the items we offer are antique or vintage, and as such, will typically exhibit some signs of age-related wear. Some items may feature historical repairs or restorations, varying in visibility; in some cases, a professional restoration may have been executed so skilfully that their work is undetectable.
These pieces are not presented in ‘perfect’ condition; each item has its own unique story, and the bumps, scratches, old repairs, and marks accumulated over the years contribute to the character and history of the piece. We provide a complete description, high-quality images from multiple angles, and measurements to represent each product as accurately as possible. Despite our efforts, some minor variations may occur (e.g., colour). If you need additional clarification regarding a product, please reach out to us for further information. It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that the condition and presentation of their purchase meet their personal requirements.
2: Electrical Products
We advise that all electrical items be inspected, tested, certified, and installed by a qualified electrician. Additionally, we recommend that vintage electrical goods be equipped with an “RCD” (Residual Current Device) for added protection. We will not be held liable for any loss, injury, or death resulting from electrical goods that have not undergone inspection, testing, and certification by a qualified professional.
3: Refund Policy
We understand that purchasing items online can be challenging, especially if you haven’t had the chance to see or examine them in person. We are always happy to discuss items in more detail and can provide additional information about their condition, along with photographs, if needed.
We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. However, if you are not, please contact us within 3 days of receiving the goods. We will issue a full refund of the purchase price (excluding all shipping costs) if the item does not meet your expectations, provided it is returned to us in its original condition or if it has been damaged during transport, and within seven days of your receipt.
For returns within the UK, the buyer will be responsible for all return shipping costs. For international returns, the buyer will also cover all shipping costs, as well as any customs charges incurred when the items are returned to the UK.
4: Pricing
Prices quoted by Tinker and Toad do not include delivery charges unless otherwise specified. Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. All prices EXCLUDE delivery costs, which will be added to the total amount due at checkout. For clarity, we will not be liable for any export or import duties, taxes, or other charges that may arise from shipping goods to a destination outside the United Kingdom.
5: Liability
Tinker and Toad’s liability for losses is strictly limited to the amount paid by the Customer for a Product or Service. Neither Tinker and Toad nor any director, employee, affiliate, or representative will be liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising out of or in connection with the supply of goods or services provided through this website. This includes, but is not limited to, indirect or consequential losses or damages, loss of data, income, profit or opportunity, damage to property, and claims made by third parties, even if Tinker and Toad has been advised of the possibility of such losses or damages and/or they were reasonably foreseeable. The exclusions and limitations of liability outlined above do not apply to liability for negligence resulting in death or personal injury.
6: Items Purchased in Person from Our Showroom
We cannot offer refunds for items purchased in our showroom as our items are sold as seen. If you do change your mind and decide to return the item, we can offer you a credit note to spend with us (this can be used in-store or online). However, you must notify us that you wish to return the item(s) within two days of purchase. You can do this by sending us an email to info@tinkerandtoad.com. We will then arrange collection of the item(s), which must be returned to us in the condition they were purchased. All return deliveries will be at your cost.
All legal disputes related to card processing are handled under UK Law
