A Newlyn Copper Water Jug With Fish Decoration

This exquisite Newlyn copper water jug is typical of the work produced by various artists working in the Arts & Crafts movement in the Cornish fishing village of Newlyn in the late 19th century. Of outward tapered form with hammered decoration of fish being typical Newlyn subject matter. Beautifully domed lid with a thumb latch and rivetted spout and a basket weave wicker handle. Stamped Newlyn. Most definitely one of the nicest examples I’ve ever seen.  Mint condition. Height 6.25″
