A Pair of Antique Venetian Urn Lamps, Early 19th Century
A large and imposing pair of Venetian urn lamps with pleated silk crescent-shaped shades. The urns with gadrooned neck and bulbous body, with gilded floral and mask decoration, probably that of Bacchus the Greek god of wine. Flanked by large scrolling handles with floral and mask decoration. The whole standing on a pedestal base. Extremely large and attractive lamps standing at almost 3 feet tall to top of the shade. Increasingly rare and hard to source item. They would look stunning on a large console table or matching lamp tables or pedestals. Dimensions without shades: Height 22″ x width 14.5″ x depth 8.5″.
