A Victorian Burr Walnut and Inlaid Davenport Circa 1870

An attractive Victorian Burr Walnut Davenport. Having an unusual domed and mirrored upper section housing two drawers, one being split into sections with pen tray, flanked by cubby holes. The inset leather writing slope enclosing two further drawers and large storage area. Nicely figured timbers to the front panel with symmetrical inlay. A bank of four drawers to the righthand side with dummies on the opposite side. The inlaid uprights finished with bun feet inset with ceramic castors. Three keys present for the top section, writing slope and the bank of drawers. Lots of stringing and inlay making this an attractive and functional piece of English antique furniture. With the age of tablets and ipads upon us, we feel that Davenports are once again finding a much-deserved place in the modern home. Would suit a modern or period interior. Dimensions: W 22″ x H 37″ x D 22″
