This is a rare and stunning Antique sofa Circa 1900-1920.

The original sofa was sourced from a elderly ladies Georgian town house in Chelsea.

Stripped back and lovingly restored and re-upholstered using only original materials and traditional methods by a Master Craftsmen. Completely hand stitched and taking over two weeks to complete it really was a labour of love! Using only the finest natural coir, soft hair and upholstery materials with the latest high end traditional designer fabrics.

This will surely become a statement piece for the lucky person  who takes her home.

The striking and unusual concave back covered in one of Mulberry Homes signature linen fabrics, Flying Ducks which retails at £98 per metre. A gorgeous Art Nouveau type pattern that compliments the natural wool fabric used on the seat.

The seat has been totally rebuilt, padded and strengthened with new interwoven jute webbing to its heavy coil sprung base. This provides a balanced and comfortable seat, hard to find in todays cheap modern manufacture of “Pile ’em high and sell ’em low” culture.

Covered in a 100% natural wool fabric from one of the oldest English manufacturers Abraham Moon and retailing at £50 per metre.  To finish the look we have finished the side arms, arm rests and front corners in a Linwood Delano luxury Italian heavy velvet which retails at over £120 per metre.

The stunning Queen Anne style legs simply ooze quality with their attractive carved shell motif, have been cleaned and re-polished bringing them back to their former glory. It’s rare to find a sofa with rear legs that match the front. They are traditionally a cheaper more plain and simple leg. This shows the quality and expense of the sofas original manufacture.

To have a sofa of this quality made today would be similar to the cost of a new George Smith sofa, probably costing between £7000-10,000.
