Description
A handsome mid‑century drinks cabinet, French, c.1950s–60s sourced on a recent trip to Paris.
The exterior is clad in slim bamboo canes with a warm honey finish, framed by thicker canes at the edges for a clean, linear profile.
It stands on sculptural cast‑iron legs with swivelling castors for easy movement.
The front fall‑down door is supported by a stay so it serves as an additional worktop or tray when open.
Inside is an open compartment for bottles and glassware. To the front are decorative cast‑iron strapwork brackets and a round escutcheon with original working lock and key. The top has a painted surface that contrasts pleasingly with the bamboo and offers a durable place to mix and serve.
A simple, well‑proportioned piece that captures the relaxed, practical spirit of mid‑century design and would work equally as a cocktail cabinet, sideboard or hall console.
Approx. dimensions: 87 W x 77 H x 44 D cm.
