A charming Pastel and Charcoal Nude Life Study by Alfred Edward Jackson (1873-1952). Dimensions: 66 x 55cm

Alfred Edward Frederick Jackson was born in Kentish Town, London, England, in 1873. He trained at Camden School of Art, where he was an exceptional student and won a Gold and Silver medal for his work.

At the age of twenty-eight (in 1901), Jackson had his first painting exhibited at the Royal Academy. Shortly before this, he began to publish illustrations in The Sketch, painted covers for the Daily Mail Sixpenny Novel series, and illustrated children’s books.
